To monitor your distribution board circuits you will need 1 sensor for each circuit you need to measure. The sensors are hinged and open so you dont need to rewire anything in order to fit them. Similarly, it is possible (although for health and safety reasons probably not advisable) that your electrician can fit the sensors without first powering down the circuits you want to monitor.
The sensors come in a range of sizes and it is advisable for you to choose a sensor for each circuit that is larger than the current that the circuit is rated/designed to carry. If you do not know this right now, in most cases, a 30A clamp is sufficient and is small enough to fit into most distribution boards.
To configure your system properly you need to buy a total of 0 sensors.
