Quick start guide
So, you've just received your shiny new package from Enistic and you want to get it going to see how it all works. This guide is the "quick version" of how to get it all up and running. Longer versions can be found both in the instructions in the individual products and in the various online resources we have, such as the support forum.
This guide assumes you are going to set up a simple system consisting of:
- A plug in Smart meter - to measure the power use of your printer, computer etc
- A 16 channel distribution board semi-fiscal smart meter or a fiscal smart meter - to show you what your building is consuming on a circuit by circuit basis
- A Smart Energy Controller Lite - to link the above items to the software
- The Energy Manager Online
Step 1 - Unpack the kit contents
(NB The fiscal meter refered to below is not shown)

Step 2 - Test the controller
First, plug the controller into your internet, either your local network or your router. Do not plug it directly into your laptop (unless you just want to run the desktop software)

Then look up the controller serial number here:

The controller uses standard HTTP over port 80 to communicate with the online site. You do not need to open any incoming firewall ports.
To make sure it is working, go to the following page: http://www.enistic.com/static/controller_test.php and type in the serial number like this:
Press the "Run Test" button and you should get a page like this:

Notice where is says "Online", This is important. If it doesn't say "Online" you have a networking issue and the controller cannot communicate with the server. You MUST sort this issue out before using Energy Manager Online.

Step 3 - Plug in the Smart Strip and plug something to measure into the Smart Strip

Step 4 - Wire up the distribution board meter or fiscal meter
If you're not using any of these, skip this step.

Step 5 - Create an account online
Go to www.enistic.com
Click on Home->Create or edit an account
Follow the online wizard to set the account up

Step 6 - Log in to your account
Go to your account (www.enistic.com and choose "Home->Login to your account")

Step 7 - Check your meters on the "Live View->All" page
Which should give you something like this:

Summary
That's about it. It's pretty easy once you get going but, as usual, if you get any queries, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us and we'll do our best to help.
